HOUSTON HONORS PRIVACY POLICY

Houston Honors is a media, recognition, and community initiative fiscally sponsored by Houston Justice. This Privacy Policy explains how Houston Honors and Houston Justice collect, use, protect, and disclose information submitted through HoustonHonors.com and related Houston Honors forms, programs, publications, events, and communications.
Information We Collect
We may collect information you voluntarily provide, including your name, email address, mobile phone number, ZIP code, organization, nomination information, event registrations, story submissions, photographs, social media or website links, and other information you choose to share with us.
When you nominate another person, you may also provide limited contact and background information about that nominee. Providing a nominee’s phone number does not enroll that nominee in automated SMS communications. Nominees must separately provide their own consent before receiving automated text messages from Houston Honors.
We may also collect basic technical information such as browser type, device information, IP address, cookies, and website usage data.
How We Use Information
We may use information to:
• Process and review Houston Honors Power 100 nominations
• Contact nominators and nominees
• Manage editorial profiles, interviews, photography, video, and publication activities
• Communicate about Houston Honors programs, events, publications, Top 10 lists, and community opportunities
• Respond to questions and requests
• Manage registrations and participation
• Improve HoustonHonors.com and our programs
• Maintain internal records and prevent fraud or abuse
SMS and Mobile Information
Individuals may separately choose to receive non-marketing and/or marketing text messages from Houston Honors.
Non-marketing messages may include nomination confirmations, nomination status, profile completion requests, scheduling, participation information, and other administrative communications.
Marketing or promotional messages may include Houston Honors publication announcements, events, Power 100 updates, Top 10 lists, community opportunities, and other Houston Honors news.
Consent to receive text messages is optional and is not a condition of submitting a nomination, participating in Houston Honors, or making a purchase.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for assistance.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

HoustonHonors.com may use cookies and similar technologies to understand website usage, improve site performance, remember preferences, and support analytics.

How We Share Information
We may share information with vendors and service providers that assist with website hosting, CRM services, communications, photography, video production, printing, events, analytics, and other operational needs.

You may request that we correct or delete personal information you provided, subject to legal, operational, or archival requirements.
You may unsubscribe from marketing email communications using the unsubscribe link provided in those messages.
You may opt out of SMS at any time by replying STOP. Reply HELP for assistance.
Public Nominations and Editorial Content
Submitting a nomination does not automatically make nomination information public. If a nominee is selected or agrees to participate in Houston Honors editorial coverage, additional information, photography, video, interviews, or profile content may be published with appropriate participation and editorial review.
Children
Houston Honors is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate authorization.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Houston Honors develops. Updated versions will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
