We are building the inaugural Houston Honors Power 100: a living record of the people whose work, leadership, creativity, service and stories are shaping Houston.
Houston Honors will recognize 100 Houstonians whose accomplishments, ideas, leadership, creativity and service deserve to be documented.
The inaugural class will become the foundation of a beautifully produced commemorative Power 100 publication and a larger editorial platform dedicated to telling the stories of the people building this city.
The inaugural Houston Honors Power 100 will recognize ten people in each of ten categories. The categories are intentionally broad. We are looking for impact, story, leadership and contribution, not simply impressive titles.
Lawyers and legal professionals whose advocacy, leadership, counsel or service has made a meaningful impact.
People advancing health, medicine, research, care, access or the institutions that keep Houston well.
Teachers, professors, administrators, mentors and education innovators expanding knowledge and opportunity.
Founders, owners, executives and operators building companies, jobs, industries and economic opportunity.
Agents, brokers, developers, builders and other leaders shaping where and how Houston lives, works and grows.
Restaurant owners, chefs and hospitality leaders shaping how Houston eats, gathers and experiences the city.
Competitors and sports figures whose excellence, leadership, influence or story reaches beyond the game.
Writers, musicians, filmmakers, designers, photographers, performers and visual artists shaping Houston culture.
Organizers, nonprofit leaders, advocates, faith leaders, volunteers and neighborhood champions who consistently show up for others.
People whose stories, ideas, influence or unconventional paths make them impossible to define by only one category.
